Concept photography is more than changing an outfit and standing in front of a backdrop. At K-BLACK, every concept is a character built from scratch – with its own story, its own colors, and lighting calculated to capture exactly the right emotion. Cyber Blue is the studio's latest series: straight-fringed silver hair, a black corset, metal hugging the arms, and a cold blue like a screen's glow at midnight.
The idea: a character stepping out of the digital world
Cyber Blue draws inspiration from the aesthetic of cyber / futuristic: half-real, half-virtual characters from games and science fiction films. Instead of elaborate props, the crew kept everything minimal so color and form could speak for themselves – an electric blue background, black wardrobe, bright metallic accents.
Lighting: cold blue and rim light
The entire series revolves around a narrow palette: a deep blue gradient background combined with cold rim light to separate the model from the backdrop. In close-ups, light is pushed toward the face to preserve skin and eye detail; in full-body frames, the reflective glossy floor adds another layer of depth.
Wardrobe, makeup and posing
The wardrobe is a black corset, shorts and sheer tights – a “uniform” simple enough to let the metal and silver hair take center stage. The makeup is sharp and cool, with defined eyeliner and deep-toned lips. For posing, the photographer alternates hard and soft: some poses upright and decisive like a game character; other moments with a hand to the lips, head tilted, gazing straight into the lens.
You don't need to know how to pose beforehand: during the shoot, the photographer guides every pose and expression, and images appear live on a large screen so you can review and approve them on the spot.
